HIKVISION, the world's leading provider of innovative products and video surveillance solutions, has launched a new addition to the Turbo HD 4.0 series - cameras with built-in PIR sensor for even more accurate motion detection.
Passive infrared sensor PIR, which has a detection range of up to 11 meters, senses motion in a given area. The sensor can filter false alarms by distinguishing infrared emissions from the other noise. So when an inanimate object moves, there is no alarm, but when it senses the movement of the human body, an alarm is triggered. Meanwhile, the camera generates blinking white light as a warning signal to prevent the intruder, and also provides additional light allowing the camera to capture a clearer image. Filtering false alarms saves storage and means more effective event search, as there are fewer alarms to review.
Keen Yao, vice president of Hikvision International Business Center, said: "We are pleased to extend our Turbo HD 4.0 range even more to meet the growing customer needs."
The cameras are also equipped with Ultra Low-Light technology, enabling them to capture clear, high-quality images even in low-light scenes - up to 0.005 lux. The built-in PIR information is transmitted only via the coaxial cable. Registering PIR alarms in the DVR-a can be activated or deactivated via the Motion Detection menu in the DVR-a via the False Alarm Filter option. The menu is available through the browser (IE) and through the local menu. When it is activated, the DVR-a records only when the PIR sensor is turned on, thus eliminating false alarms, shades, and so on. To take advantage of PIR functionality, the DVR must be TurboHD 4.0 from the "K" series (DS-xxxxHxHI-Kx) and the firmware version is 3.5.30 or higher. Accordingly, it does not work with older DVRs and TurboHD 3.0 and 1.0 ("F" series and "SH" series).
The new addition of cameras is useful in applications where costs are a relevant factor, both in private homes and small shops.
Models with a built-in PIR sensor (DS-2CE71D8T-PIRL, DS-2CE12D8T-PIRL, DS-2CE38D8T-PIR) can be found at SETRON offices throughout the country.
